*thank you to Whispers and Echoes for publishing my poem. This is the first of three to appear in the coming weeks. I originally wrote it for a Sammi Scribbles prompt some time ago, so I’m delighted it was accepted.
Now this song on the other hand is what I’m talking about. The brass section is simply *kisses fingers* Marvin would be proud.
Wonderful! And congrats of getting published. And love this version a classic Marvin Gaye song.

Hey thanks Bob! I appreciate it 🙂
I know, right? I’ve just listened to it 4 times in a row, ha ha! I should probably stop now.

The poem sways or is it slays, and the poem I have on one of my playlists already and now I’m wondering – can it be that you posted it once before?

Hi Manja! I like your wordplay 😊 You are indeed right, I posted it for a prompt some months ago. But Whispers and Echoes accepts poetry that’s been self-published on blogs which is great as so many journals don’t.

This is good to know. But I meant the tune, even though the poem was a bit familiar as well. It’s exactly this video that I have here saved and I might have got it from you.

Oh! I think we’re just in sync, Manja! For I have not shared this before. You just have excellent music taste 🙂

Coal Black! So many disguises you have! I always care if you post, I just haven’t caught up yet. So you’re in Birmingham too 😂 I imagine Alabama’s more exciting than the Midlands!
Thank you so much for your lovely kind words 💕

Not Alabama either, though people always think so. I’m up in the mitten!

Ha ha! I’m not sure what the mitten means or where but I imagine it’s characterful 🙂

Look at any map of the United States and you’ll see the mitten.

Love, love, love this. The puns work so well in this piece, and it made me smile. It is silly and it holds gravity to it with its playfulness, which really makes me appreciate that poetry does not have to be on two ends of a spectrum with emotion (either being emotional or silly); there can be an in-between and I find that in this piece. The first couple lines gave me deja-vu for some reason. Such a great piece, and as always, I enjoy reading you and the images you conjure. It’s a treat!

Thank you so much! ❤️ I really enjoyed writing this and it seems to resonate with musicians (which you are, I believe?) so I’m delighted about that. It is meant to be more playful than cutting. Appreciated, Lucy, and I always love reading you too 😊🙏

You know you’re doing something right if you manage to hit both the poets and the musicians in one single shot. 😉

What a wonderful comment! Thank you, Lucy ❤ If I've managed that then my work is done! 😀

Ha! I laughed out loud and could so relate as I have a (eminently forgettable) history with blues musicians and their bluesy blue notes and endless solos. Sorry I have been so absent, Sunra–when I get into a poetry dead spot I have difficulty even reading–I just go dormant. This is just the thing to perk me up, and thanks so much for all your thoughtful and kind comments.

😂 Ha ha! I’m glad you relate! Yeah, there’s those. They play and they need listeners. Please don’t ever apologise for being absent, Joy, you do whatever you need to do. I’ll always drop by regardless. I, too, am a bit absent occasionally. And I’m so glad it perked you up, that’s wonderful to hear! 💖 😊
