How you came to me in the night
as some frangible throb of light,
you teased with soft profusion
I caved to your collusion,
neither major nor minor
your notes could not be finer,
how you came to me in the night
as some frangible throb of light.

*Written for dVerse, hosted by Grace, who invites us to write an Octelle poem. Originally created by Emily Romano, this form consists of 8 lines that should contain both personification and symbolism in a telling manner. Syllable count: 8/8/7/7/7/7/8/8, with rhyme scheme aa/bb/cc/aa. The first two lines are the last two lines are identical.
*I have coupled this poem with a Throwback Thursday from a band I never tire of listening to. This one is a symphony to my ears. Yes, Pixies, give it to me.
Love the “frangible” throb of light and the music inspired words of: neither major nor minor
your notes could not be finer. Sunra, love the clever title (and music too). Thanks for joining in!

Thank you, dear Gillena! ❤ By the way, I dropped by your blog yesterday and tried to comment on it but I couldn't as it doesn't allow Anonymous commenting (which would then allow me to type my name in). So I was unable to tell you how much I enjoyed your poems! Hope you see this note 🙂
