The Zen of Dressmaking (ii)

Image from Pinterest

I manifest myself a dress
as an act of self-care.

My pockets bulge with shrugs.
This frock must have pockets.

Hidden fathoms within the oasis
of my body.  I stitch

seams until they’re unseen, until
poems tumble from the hem.

    1. Thanks Bjorn. You know, I’m not sure but I think it’s a residue of old-fashioned thought that women didn’t need pockets because they would usually reside in the house. And possibly from a fashion sense, designers may think that pockets mar the female silhouette. Which is nonsense. Women always need pockets! 🙂
